Natural Eczema Relief
There is nothing worse than living with eczema. It’s a chronic allergic condition of the skin where redness, itching, flakiness, irritability, cracking due to dryness and pain surfaces.
Also known as atopic dermatitis, eczema can be genetic.
Many professionals agree that skin problems are a direct correlation to the stomach and intestinal issues. It is easy to band-aid the redness and itchiness with over the counter or prescription hydrocortisone and steroid creams, but research has proved this is temporary.
In fact, long-term use of such anti-itching cremes can lead to more frequent flare-ups and does not solve the problem at the root source. Though it is the longer route to feeling better, natural eczema relief does exist!
My son is 5 months old and is exclusively breastfed. He seems to be extremely sensitive to all allergens (dairy, meat, fish, eggs, soy, corn, gluten, wheat, and other non-gluten grains) as well as nuts). I have had to cut out all of these allergens in my daily diet and learned to embrace the vegan and vegetarian way of eating. Makes for a very hungry and creative mommy!
My suggestions for people living with eczema and for those mommies who are breastfeeding little ones with eczema or other skin dermatitis:
✯ Take a raw or lactose-free probiotic with 35-50 billion live cultures daily.
✯ Take vegetarian and allergen-free digestive enzyme with all meals.
✯ Hydrate with lukewarm lemon water and drink alkaline water whenever possible.
✯ Use fractionated coconut oil with a mix of melaleuca, frankincense, and thyme, helichrysum and geranium essential oil on affected areas.
Zendocrine is a great detoxing oil for the bottoms of the feet. This can be applied to infants as well.
✯ If you are not allergic to mineral oil, use Aquaphor.
Aquaphor is a great ointment skin protectant that can calm, soothe and moisturize red and irritated skin. Use this nightly before bed.
✯ Stay clear of processed foods.
Go back to eating whole plants and vegetables, beans and legumes, healthy fats from avocados, coconuts, flax, hemp, and other seeds.
✯ Eat your sea vegetables.
